A few of my Favorite things... |
About Ms. Gomez:
This is my 10th year teaching PE and my 6th here in District 65. I previously split my time between Walker Elementary School and Haven before becoming full time here at Haven last year. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in 2009 with a Bachelors in Physical Education and a minor in Health Education. In 2013 I received my Masters in School Administration and Leadership from St. Xavier University in Chicago. In my free time I love to play in recreational sports leagues and I participate in several softball, dodgeball, kickball, golf, and badminton leagues throughout the year. I also love to hang out with my wife, son, and my dog Chi, read, watch football and baseball (Go Cubs!), and travel. The emphasis of my Physical Education class is the development of knowledge and skills that will contribute to a healthy lifestyle. It doesn't matter to me if students are star athletes. What does matter is that students give 110% in everything we do. I want to teach kids that there really is something out there for everyone when it comes to getting active and staying healthy. I am also a huge proponent of team building activities and emphasize the importance of being able to work as a positive, productive, and supportive member of a team.
